Well, what can we say about our products...... perhaps the best way to describe our product is to say that when a customer eats one of our pies or pasties, invariably they will buy a dozen or so more cold ones to take home for later.
We are not like most other bakeries. All our products are baked each day on our premises from a recipe. You won't find the usual donuts and buns here. We specialise in old fashioned style cakes and slices, the kind most people haven't tasted since Grandma baked for them.
Quandong tart and fruit pies chock full of fruit are a real treat. Perhaps you'll remember things like Chester Squares, Eccles cakes and apple strudel, just a few of our specialties along with lemon meringue pies and creamy vanilla slice.
Our chunky steak pies are our real claim to fame. We make them in many different flavours from plain steak, mushroom, pepper, kidney, bacon, curry, chilli and satay. We make a delicious chicken pie in three different flavours. Why not try one of our pie floaters, a real South Australian dish. You should see the size of our sausage rolls!
For the vegetarian we have a famous cornish pastie, made with 7 freshly grated vegetables cooked inside a crisp pastry, or our spinach and fetta cheese pie.
Our tastes of the outback range includes kangaroo, venison, Saeid's camel pie and rabbit stew pie.
We open at 7.30am and offer a full breakfast menu which is available all day if required. Our coffee is the best we can buy and freshly ground. Everything from a short black to a double decafe Cappuccino on skinny milk.
Fresh baked bread every day and our super salad rolls have been known to stop the hungriest man in his tracks.
We now have our own range of homemade jams, all made on our premises.

The way we were........

For more than 50 years Australians had maintained as nearly as possible a British way of life, but by the mid 1850's the situation was starting to change.  Within a few years the population doubled not only with gold seeking British immigrants but with Americans, Frenchmen, Germans, Chinese and others.  On the diggings, side by side with the sturdy English-style pubs and eating houses, arose establishments catering for other nationalities.  Australians tasted for the first time such dishes as spaghetti and chop suey.
